There Are No More Songs To Play On This Station After Pandora HTML5 Upgrade

After posting about my list of free and legal ways to listen to music online, I encountered a problem in my music source of choice: Pandora. I started getting a message saying “There Are No More Songs To Play On This Station” which completely halted music playback and wouldn’t let me do much else.

If you read my previous post you know that Pandora is an important part of my workflow, I listen to it 20/7 (yea really, I don’t sleep much!) and have about 30 stations. When I started getting this message, it was a problem. Here’s what I did to solve it:

Try another station:

AT first I thougth this was jsut a problem with the station I was listening to so I switched to another station. I didn’t get the error message again but no audio would play. I tried skipping songs on that station, and the orgiinal station but sound did not resume. The funny thihng is that I have Pandora on all my devices including my TV, so I switched over to my TV for a moment to see if the songs would play there; they played just fine, no error messages and no problems.

So that narrowed the problem down to my PC or browser.

Process of elimination:

Sign out of Pandora and then back in. This didn’t solve the problem for me but its worth a try.

Restart your browser. Again, this didn’t fix things for me but is always a good idea when you are having web app issues.

Clear your cookies and cache. This will clear out logged in sessions to web apps like Pandora as well, and will clear anything the browser might be holding on to even after a browser restart. This fixes a lot of problems, but again didn’t fix the Pandora issue.

Change browsers. I tried Pandora in Chrome vs Firefox and it seemed to work fine so I knew the problem existed in my browser. To finally fix the problem I simply closed the saved tab Pandora was in, did all of the above steps again, opened my browser fresh and navigated back to Pandora. My stations resumed normal operation and everything was fine. I haven’t see the problem again and other than that, have really enjoyed the new interface to Pandora.

    I’m having the unable to fetch issue with the Pandora app on my android phone. My process of elimination has not solved the problem.

    I too am now getting this message on my SGSII (at&t) android phone. This message just started showing up recently. Frustrating.

    It’s not anything to do with the browser or cache files or cookies. It’s a Pandora account problem. This problem happens in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, iPhone, iPad, etc.

    I know this because I created a completely different account with a different email address using the same exact stations and the music plays fine.

    Meanwhile the account that I’m paying for doesn’t work!!

    I have the same problem on my Droid Razr. It’s frustrating – has anyone found a solution for this? I have the subscription version, and it’s set to high quality. Both times it happened so far I was using wifi, but I don’t (yet) know if that’s a factor.

    Yeah I have the app on my iPod and on every station I get a thing that says there are no tracks on that station…. On every station. What can I do? I signed out and I still get the message.
